The OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Law provides students with a grounding in the legal system of England and Wales. It helps learners understand how the legal system operates, how law functions in society, and some of the key legal areas that underpin further study in law.

Course requirements

OTHM does not specify formal entry qualifications, but centres must ensure learners are admitted appropriately and can successfully undertake the learning and assessment.

  • Learners can be offered this qualification from age 16

  • Learners from non-majority English-speaking countries must provide evidence of English language competency

Assessments

The qualification is assessed through coursework and requires learners to achieve all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each mandatory unit. Assessment is internally carried out by the centre and externally verified by OTHM.
